I’ve been uploading stuff to patchstorage.com, starting with my VCV Rack patches. I’ve also started adding Reaktor stuff, and in the process have made a demo video for Loid’s Cousin. The others will follow in the near future.
The main sound source in this one is the recently-released Particul (Reaktor ensemble), with plenty of effects, of course. Loid (my Lunetta-style modular setup) is also present, along with some hardware effects and feedback loops.
The video is an OBS capture of Id’s classic Quake FPS (running in the quakespasm engine), glitched out beyond recognition with Acid Cam. Here’s a screenshot showing the settings used to process the video:
As previously mentioned, Particul is another noisebox/sound generator based around two noisy random-ish generators, each with lowpass and bandpass filters, which can then be run through a frequency shifter and delay. It has now been released, and is available from the Reaktor page on this site, or the NI Reaktor User Library.

The synth itself is finished, and a preview version is available from the FSA Patreon page. The final version will come with a few more presets, but otherwise it’s done. I also need to write the readme, so the preview version has no documentation.
Several years back, I released a VSTi called “Noisebot” under the “synthgeek” name. It was built in SynthEdit in the pre-64 bit days, so has become outdated. SE can do 64-bit now, but Noisebot relied on some custom modules that aren’t available for the new version. I’ve been missing this one, so I decided to try to recreate it in Reaktor, with some success. There are some differences between this and the old version, but it does the same kinds of noisy things. You can find it on the Reaktor page here, or at NI’s Reaktor User Library.
I’ve started up the old “Noise Session” thing again, under a new name, and on YouTube this time. I know, it sucks, but it works. 🙂 I probably won’t be able to do these weekly like before, but I will try to keep them semi-regular.
I’ll be trying some different things, for example the video is just the visuals this time, with a screenshot posted here of the setup used. I might change that up. As usual, though I lack the bandwidth to do an actual live stream, this was recorded “live,” in one take.
As for details on what was used: Plogue’s Bidule was the DAW/host, and Glitch Machines‘ Palindrome and my recent Reaktor creation Loid’s Cousin were the sound sources there. These were joined by the hardware Loid and a feedback loop run out through a set of outputs on my audio interface to a channel on my mixer and back in through a pair of inputs. The mixer has another feedback loop set up with the old “delay send returned to a mixer channel” trick, and the PC feedback is being processed with that and other hardware fx. A bunch of fx plugins and Bidule processing are also in use, see the screenshot for details.
