Added some new .sfz-format multisamples today: a resynthesized bass guitar, an FM bass sound, and a “synth vox”-style pad from the K2000S. See the samples page to download.

Behind the scenes of Monday Night Noise Sessions – Steemit
In this short video, I go through the most important parts of the setup I’m using for the “Monday Night Noise Session” videos. When I gather the resources, I’ll try to do one that includes more about the hardware side. Also, for the curious, the mixer I reference in the video is a Tapco MIX260fx.
Fugue State Audio – Monday Night Noise Session 006 – Steemit
Welcome to the latest episode of Monday Night Noise Sessions! Getting some semi-random/glitchy beats in on the action this time, via de la Mancha’s Erratic drum machine VSTi. If I’m being honest, I’m not totally happy with how this one turned out, but such is the nature of experimentation I guess.
Another installment of Obscure Audio Software:
Obscure Audio Software: Xenakios Hourglass (freeware granular audio processor for Windows) – Steemit
In this installment of Obscure Audio Software, we step away from the modular stuff to examine Hourglass, a fun (and free) granular audio processor. This is a standalone-only program, though it can load VST plugins. Main screen with a VST automation envelope visible Hourglass is more of a single-purpose type of program than the things I’ve previously covered here.
It’s that time again:
Fugue State Audio – Monday Night Noise Session 005 – Steemit
Welcome to the latest episode of Monday Night Noise Sessions! Slightly late delivery again due to upload issues. This time around, I got my Android tablet in on the fun, with an app called Skrot that can do strange things to sounds that you record into it.

A tip for working with heavily-distorted kick drums – Steemit
In this video, I share a little trick I picked up for working with heavily-distorted kick drums, which have a tendency to muddy up a mix. The basic idea is to leave the undistorted kick intact, while mixing in a second layer with distortion applied.

Fugue State Audio – Monday Night Noise Session 004 – Steemit
Welcome to the latest edition of Monday Night Noise Sessions! Most of the sounds in this one come from the hardware side of my setup. There is a drone from the K2000S which is mostly there to prop up the low end, while the Lunetta-style modular (plus an analog filter) is doing much of the rest.
Another edition of Obscure Audio Software:
Obscure Audio Software: Wren (Modular soft synth for Windows) – Steemit
This edition of Obscure Audio Software will focus on another piece of virtual modular gear, though this time the object of our attention is slightly less complex. Today we’re going to look at Wren, which is a free and open-source standalone-only modular soft synth (Windows only).
Latest episode is up on Steemit:
Fugue State Audio – Monday Night Noise Session 003 – Steemit
Welcome to the latest edition of Monday Night Noise Sessions! This one links back to another post I made recently, in which I used databending to process a photo into glitch art, see Rorschach on Acid. The process involved converting the original image into raw data and importing it into Sound Forge for processing with audio effects.
