This being the 52nd Noise Therapy means it’s the 2nd anniversary of these. I decided to do something with Bidule, since that’s where these things started. Thanks to all who have been here for any amount of that time!

Noise Therapy: Session 052

This being the 52nd Noise Therapy means it’s the 2nd anniversary of these. I decided to do something with Bidule, since that’s where these things started. Thanks to all who have been here for any amount of that time!

The Bidule patch can be downloaded here or at my patchstorage page.

All of the multisamples available here are now available in Decent Sampler format in addition to SFZ. If you have previously downloaded any (or all) of these samples and just want the mapping files for the new format, you can download this zip file which contains just the .dspreset files for all of them.

If anyone’s curious, I used a tool called Bjoerns Sample Mapper for the conversions.

Another fairly simple noisebox synth combining an AM/FM oscillator configuration with an Atari Punk Console-style triggered monostable.

FSA Latcher demo – VST3i noisebox synth

Latcher is a VST3i noisebox synth in the same vein as NANDroid and XORbot, and contains many of the same features as those previous synths. The sound-generating part is something of a cross between a circuit I built called the Modutronic Messmaker (an AM/FM noisebox), XORbot, and an Atari Punk Console.

Workers at Bandcamp are organizing to form a union, and management have hired a union-busting law firm to attempt to disrupt their efforts. Bandcamp United has put out a call for support from users.

From the Bandcamp United website:

As the workers who build Bandcamp, we believe we should have input into its direction, and we believe in supporting and protecting workers who speak up. When we use our voices, we do so because we care about the future of Bandcamp, and because we wish to see our colleagues, artists, and broader communities succeed. It is important to us that Bandcamp’s artist-first mission continues with clarity and accountability, with all resources afforded to us distributed in the fairest and most transparent way possible. We feel a responsibility to support those who are most marginalized, to use our platform with integrity, and to provide reasonable protections and accommodations for those at-risk.
