Trying out a new toy in this one, a free/donationware modular host called Bespoke Synth.

Bespoke

Bespoke is a software modular synthesizer. It contains a bunch of modules, which you can connect together to create sounds. Bespoke is like a DAW* in some ways, but with less of a focus on a global timeline. Instead, it has a design more optimized for jamming and exploration.

I’m enjoying it very much. 🙂 The audio here is all coming from two recordings of native New Zealand birds called Tuis, which make really cool sounds. I grabbed samples of the audio from an Instagram post by a friend of my wife (the post seems to be gone now).

Most of the processing is being done with Bespoke’s built-in modules, messing with playback speed and position, and adding some stutter and delay effects. There is a VST plugin providing reverb (bx_rooMS), and another on the main stereo buss providing compression (Royal Compressor).

The video is footage from Goat Simulator, once again glitched beyond recognition with Acid Cam.

Enjoy!

The main sound source in this one is the recently-released Particul (Reaktor ensemble), with plenty of effects, of course. Loid (my Lunetta-style modular setup) is also present, along with some hardware effects and feedback loops.

The video is an OBS capture of Id’s classic Quake FPS (running in the quakespasm engine), glitched out beyond recognition with Acid Cam. Here’s a screenshot showing the settings used to process the video:

The sounds in this one come from a 7-string Ibanez guitar being processed in Bidule, with amp/pedal sims & other stuff. The video is footage captured from the game Superflight, processed with Acid Cam.

This one was made by processing the sound of a contact mic on a humidifier through hardware and software effects. The video is footage from the game Signal From Tolva, processed through a stack of 3 AcidCam filters. Enjoy!

About 0:40 in, something glitched out in this one, but it kept sounding cool, so I went with it. Sound sources in this one are Klevgrand’s Pipa and iZotope’s Iris being driven by HoRNet’s HATEFISh Euclidean sequencer, with some additional MIDI mangling being done with some of Bidule’s built-in tools. Lots of effects and feedback as usual.

The initial sound source in this one is a recording I wasn’t completely happy with, so I replaced the original sound sources with that recording, keeping the same effects and routing in place. The original recording was random text generated with Deep AI’s text generator API being read by Wavosaur’s VST Speek plugin and processed in various ways.

Btw, I missed a post here on the last one (Session 004), here’s a link.

This one is just Plugin Boutique’s Radio plugin being fed into “Autophage” random audio buffer recorder/players and various effects. Unfiltered Audio’s Sandman Pro and Glitchmachines‘ Fracture XY and Convex are the most important to the sound here. As usual, feedback is playing a heavy role too.

I used foobar2000 and Shpeck for the visuals here again, this time running the Winamp AVS plugin. While it can do cool visualizations, MilkDrop definitely runs better. That makes sense, as MD has been updated somewhat recently, just figured I’d mention it.
